About the Artist:
A graduate of Mount Holyoke College with a degree in Art History, and a Masters in Fine Arts from Montclair State University. Jane Eccles is a recipient of a NJ State Council of the Arts Fellowship for distinguished work in Printmaking.
Her work is included in the collections of the Newark Museum, Princeton University's Firestone Library, Rutgers University, The Cape Museum of Fine Arts, Provincetown Art Association and Museum, the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Ireland, as well as numerous corporate and private collections.
Alan Flattman, on the occasion of the Sixth Annual Juried Exhibition sponsored by the Pastel Painters of Cape Cod, 2001, made the following statement about her entry, which was awarded a prestigous prize, "vibrant and impressionistic color and atmospheric control, excellent drawing and composition. Excellent handling of pastel strokes."
