Artist: Walter Goodall studied in the School of Design at Somerset House, London and at the Royal Academy. He exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1852 and he became an Associate of the Old Society of Painters in Watercolours and went on to become R.A. in 1862. He also exhibited at the Royal Manchester Institution and all the principal watercolour exhibitions, as well as in America.
This lithograph is of a charming internal cottage scene, depicting children and pet rabbits. Goodall painted a series of paintings which were lithgraphed, this one being most likely one of the series: "Walter Goodall's Rustic Sketches"
The painting from which this was taken was signed and dated "Walter Goodall 1861". The lithograph has an impressed stamp, "Coloured by Joseph Wilson" in the bottom right hand corner by the signature. There are some reflections on the glass in the photo. The litho is in perfect condition.
Double matted. Plain wood frame with gilding on the inside edge. There are some small knocks to the frame.
Naturally, containing glass, this picture is very heavy. I can post it in or out of the frame but postage to the USA is prohibitive in cost and I think it would be best without the glass breaking risk anyway.
